horror movie- Paranormal activity
Paranormal
activity is a very intense and terrifying horror film that features poltagise
that creates a while load of problems for the people in the film. A very clever
technique in the film is that the director has created a family with children
who are affected by these ghosts. As visible in this chart below the audience
is most woman however only by a small amount, this suggests that the female
audience prefer the more realistic imaginary kind of villains rather than the phsico
aggressive type that include blood and gore. The main age range to watch this
film is 15-24 as is it extremely scary but it has got a great thrill factor and
you do not know what is around the corner.
The
trailer for the second paranormal activity tells a lot about the film. Whenever
there is 'paranormal activity' its stein one of the bedrooms and there is night
vision cameras on which creates a very scary and wary atmosphere as the blue
creates a cold an d fearful image for the audience. The Camera is also very
high up like a camera is set up in the room. This create the effect that the
people in the room 9the victims) are vulnerable and that there is some thing up
there that is more powerful and dangerous than they are.
There
is a young innocent looking teenaged girl and there is an even younger innocent
looking boy however the boy is causing creepy things to happen in the house
that starts to scare the teen. This makes the film even scarier as the boy is
support to be the one that’s scared young and niece however its apparent that
he is the one who is causing all of the trouble.
This
trailer has very nor map people in it without any huge characters that makes it
seem like they could live next door however this adds to the intensity as it
makes the audience feel like this could happen to you.

first 2 minuites of Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging!
I have chosen to look at the first 2 minutes of the hilariously, cheesy and girlie movie- 'Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging'. the opening creates a very heart warming and funny atmosphere which draws the audience in. seeing Georgia make a fool of herself by dressing as a stuffed olive while all the other dress in flattering outfits, this makes the audience feel sorry for her however it doesn’t kill the mood as everybody watching agrees she looks stupid. This kind of humour is ideal for the opening scene as it gives a good idea about the main character and what she is like.
It’s obvious who the main character is from the start as the camera follows her as she walks (panning) to the party that focuses on her as soon as she arrives. The film is set in Eastbourne as shown throughout the opening. The camera angles help to create the setting as it has a high angle shot of Georgia running home in her ridiculous costume passing many old people giving her funny looks.
There is a lot of non-diegetic sound where there is dialogue etc. however there is a point where music begins to create another mood and theme.

Horror film evaluation of opening scene- Saw 1
The film is introduced with the titles coming up over a
black screen, there are sounds of water, spluttering and coughing. This is an
enigma code as the audience are having questions running round in their head
for example; who is it? Is he drowning? Is someone doing this to him? This is a
brilliant way to start a horror film as it keeps the audience engaged and
interested.
The first few words said are from a young man- "help! somebody
help me!", this creates a really worrying atmosphere as men are usually
the heroic and story characters therefore something really bad must be
happening. The next sound that is present is a deep calm voice of a man saying you’re
not dead just calm down.
Eventually when there is light there is a young man whose
clothes are battered and he is sweating and shaking can see another man in the
same state in front of him. They both look very confused until they both look
down and see a dead person lying on the floor in a pool of blood. They have a
look of horror in their faces as they both look away and there is a non-divergent
noise of the main man gagging and gasping for air.
There is a spooky and almost
medical music in the background that creates a horrifying mood and builds up
lots of suspense. The two men are standing in a public toilet that is very run
down, with blue lighting which creates a cold and scary feel. It is very dirty and
looks deserted which makes the audience wonder where on earth they are!
There is a very effective shot of a bird eye view where a man is lying on the floor. The shiot does not need to pan or track as the scene has enough to look out whithout any fancy camera angles. Another shot that is effective is an extreame close upon the mans face with the grusome fleshy face that has been tortured. this makes the audience feel sick.
Audience type for horror movies!
The stereotypical audience for horror films are teenagers
from 16-25 years of age. This age group generally watch horror movies because
they seek a thrill and excitement! Often horror films include a sexual scene/character
to entice the selected audience and make it more appealing. Horrors can be extremely
vulgar and frightening however this can be what appeals to this audience as
they find it amusing. This age group have also got an interest in violent
videogames which could make them want to watch horror movies as well. Another
reason could be because it can be a way of friends all getting together and
doing something together.

Harry potter and the death hallows first two minuites
The genre of this film predominantly
fantasy as presented in one of the first scenes showing Hermione
with a magic wand as she casts a spell on her parents. There is also a shot
where the images on the newspaper are moving which doesn't happen in
reality. This can be inciting for the
audience as it creates a new world for them and they can feel intrigued. Who ever has watched the previous
films will know what they are like therefore the suspense that something bad is
going to happen to harry is even more daunting.
Finally the villain is at large which
shows fear and creates a role change; the most powerful people in the films
change to be weak and powerless. To start with you can see a man talking about
the disaster that has occurred. There is fear in his eyes that make the
audience feel nervous about what is happening.
When we can finally see who he is talking to there is a large audience
of people listening intently. He finishes talking and all at once they all take
photos of him with large piercing flashes.
He seems very powerful as he is above the others and is not crowded
within them.
The lighting has also significantly
changed as it is very dark and cynical in this film compared to all the others
where the lighting is much brighter. This automatically makes the audience
wonder whether there is something bad going to happen. Before this film the
ministry seemed like a magical place however because it is dark it changes the
atmosphere. Although the last words that he says is “we remain strong!” the
fear, darkness and worry forces the audience not to believe it.
At the start of the film there is non
diegetic sounds as the man is talking, His voice is very draining and serious
as if he was upset but doesn’t want to show it. After the speech some diegetic
sounds are introduced for example some solemn music started to play that gave the impression something bad was
happening. As the film progressed the tempo of the music progressed building
tension and fear. A few times there was speech that overlapped the music
however the music was the main source of sound the whole way through.
The very start there was an extreme
close-up of the man showing just his eyes, it then changed to a close-up
presenting the rest of his face. This helped the audience to link the content
of what he is saying to the fear in his face.
There is a brief over the shoulder shot over the main character showing
his power. The next shot was a high angle shot above his head revealing the
audience. The camera was very high up which made it feel as though something
was looking down on them supporting the fact that there in a burden on them
all.
